Hello there! My name is Raihane, I'm a Registered Nutritional Therapist based in Birmingham, where I take clients on a journey to become the best version of themselves.
But first, let me tell you about my own journey which started in 2011, when I was studying at university. I was the typical student back then: snacking on sugary foods, eating processed meals and going through stressful exams and revisions. This quickly impacted my health and I became extremely tired on a daily basis, relying on sugary snacks to help me go through the day. At the same time, I was diagnosed with Irritable Bowel Syndrome by my GP, a condition I had never heard of before. As any other good patient, I took the medication prescribed by my doctor, who said I could take them for as long as needed. (Un)fortunately, these medications made no difference, I was still feeling tired, bloated and unhealthy and this is how I began my journey into the world of Nutrition and Lifestyle Medicine.
The more I learned about the power of nutrition, the more I realised how disconnected I had become from my own body. I came to understand that something as 'simple' as eating can be used as a powerful tool to improve both our physical and mental wellbeing. I experienced this firsthand as my health dramatically improved over the months, after I took back control of my own health and became more mindful of my body.
In 2015, I decided it was time for me to get more serious about nutrition so I could expand my knowledge and share my experience with others.
I studied for three years at the College of Naturopathic Medicine (CNM) in London, where I studied biomedicine and naturopathic nutrition, wrote dozens of research-based assignments and completed 200 hours of clinical observation and practice.
I graduated from CNM in 2018 and joined at the same time the Clinical Nutrition Team of a leading professional supplement company, where I provide support to fellow Nutritional Therapists and customers around the country, write experts comments for magazines, and contribute to the writing of professional resources.
I also see clients in Birmingham for one-to-one consultations and I organise workshops and talks on various subjects, to give people the tools needed to comprehend nutrition better and empower them to improve their wellbeing.
