WHAT IS NUTRITIONAL THERAPY?

Hippocrates, the Father of Medicine, said: “Let food be thy medicine and medicine be thy food”.

Nutritional Therapy is the application of nutrition science in the promotion of health. It aims to address the underlying causes of ill-health rather than just the symptoms. It uses a wide range of tools to assess and identify potential nutritional imbalances and understand how these may be contributing to an individual’s symptoms.

As a Nutritional Therapist, I believe that nutrients found in food provide the raw materials for your body to function and be healthy. By addressing nutritional imbalances, correcting unhealthy eating habits and 'unnatural' lifestyles, I support your body to rest, heal and find its balance again.

I consider each individual to be unique and I provide personalised nutrition and lifestyle recommendations rather than a ‘one size fits all’ approach.

I support individuals with various illnesses and syndromes, including:

  • Arthritis

  • Asthma

  • Chronic fatigue

  • Depression

  • Diabetes

  • Digestive issues: IBS-like symptoms, SIBO, gut permeability, bloating…

  • Endometriosis

  • Fatigue

  • Fibromyalgia

  • Food allergies and Intolerance

  • High blood pressure

  • Hormone imbalances

  • Male and female infertility

  • Menopause

  • Painful periods

  • PMS

  • Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS)

  • Skin conditions: Acne, Eczema, Psoriasis

  • Sleep disorders

  • Stress

  • Thyroid conditions

  • Weight loss

Nutritional Therapy is not a replacement for medical advice and I always refer any client with ‘red flag’ signs or symptoms to their medical professional. I communicate with other healthcare professionals involved in my client’s care to explain any nutritional therapy programme that has been provided.
